social matrix

how social matrix comes true?

As part of our day to day awareness, we are constantly making unconscious calculations about the value of the people, places and things in our lives. We are attracted to things of equal or higher value, and we lose attraction for things with lower value.
in that way, we unconsciously form a matrix and that is social matrix.

what can we do with social matrix?

Collaborative Filtering (CF), which automatically predicts the interests of a particular user based on the collective rating records of similar users or items, has been extensively studied. The underlying assumption in traditional CF models is that similar users would prefer similar items. However, CF-based models suffer from the sparsity problem and imbalance of rating data, especially for new and infrequent users. Thus, the predicted ratings from CF-models can be unreliable. To overcome the major weaknesses of CF-based recommendation sys- tems, many models have been proposed to explore ad- ditional information, such as item’s content informa- tion (Basilico & Hofmann, 2004; Wang & Blei, 2011) and user’s social network (Jamali & Ester, 2009; Ma et al., 2008). For example, Collaborative Topic Regres- sion (CTR) is a state-of-the-art model which naturally incorporates content information via latent dirchelet allocation (Blei et al., 2003) into collaborative filter- ing framework. Social network-based CF models were recently proposed to find the user’s like-minded neighbors to address the rating sparsity limitation. As we can see, most existing work have been focused on uti- lizing either content or social network information, but few have considered them jointly.

That is a quote from a paper which study recommendation by using the social matrix.

Do you feel like social media should be part of your marketing strategy but you're just not sure where to start?

Have you erected social media pages but can't get the reach or following you're looking for?

Do you feel like you have a great story to tell but just don't know how or where to tell it online?

Do you want to grow your brand but aren't sure how online fits in your offline initiative?

Relax, breathe deep. We're here to put you on the path to social media nirvana.

also another quote from a social matrix media business.

as you can see, social matrix is kind of a Golden Mine, which formed by people with no margin cost, and waiting for us to dig.

There are many attributes in it, in-degree, out-degree, betweenness. centrality, prestige and etc. To count it can be done through some easy equation, but the important is to understand what's behind it.

social matrix is a really important tech nowadays.

group cognition on social cloud

1. What is the definition of Social Cloud?

A Social Cloud is a resource and service sharing framework utilizing relationships established between members of a social network.

The social network is at least partly based on real world relationships. It do have different type like Enterprise, public science, collaborative, and covers computation and storage.

The resources exchanged need not be symmetric and can represent vastly different capabilities. A cloud-based usage model is used to enable virtualized resource sharing through service-based interfaces.

A Social Cloud leverages pre-existing trust relationships between users to enable mutually beneficial sharing within the context of a social network.

2. What are the possible applications of a Social Cloud?

The potential application scenarios that benefit from Cloud models are immense (from scalable web servers through to data intensive scientific applications).

These are our group cognition, we all have our own opinion, and it seems different. After discussion, we can make a conclusion, i think this is a group cognition.

Since all these years, as cognitive phycology develops, different methods are being used for group cognition, like brain storm, Collective Intelligence and etc. It need much more expertise and time and other tough conditions, than social cloud. Social cloud enables people to get in a group and start to think about questions anywhere anytime. Further more, it enable us to record and share at the same time.

So, social cloud is making a different in group cognition
